Cold Brewed Coffee How To

Iced Coffee is my thing, it gets me, it knows my heart. I got in a habit of getting an iced coffee from Starbucks every morning and it was glorious! But I’m never a fan of buying something if I can make it for less, obviously! How was I going to make iced coffee without a coffee maker though??? Turns out you don’t need one!

Thanks to The Pioneer Woman I learned how to make cold brewed coffee and it changed my life! (Then Starbucks started doing it and it was the best “I told you so” moment of my life.)

I like my coffee pretty strong (I’ve built up a resistance) so if the coffee is too strong it can easily be diluted with additional water after the brewing process. Also this would stretch the coffee further!!
2 1/4 Cups ground coffee (Folgers Black Silk is my fav!)
1 Gallon water (I use tap water)
2 One gallon pitchers
Mesh Strainer
Paper Towels
Preparation Instructions
In one of the pitchers, mix ground coffee with water. Cover and allow to sit at room temperature or in the fridge eight hours or overnight.
Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth (or two papertowels) and set it over the other pitcher. Pour coffee mixture through the strainer, allowing all liquid to run through. Discard grounds.
I drink my coffee with ice and milk (see picture below). Flavored creamers are good too if you need some sweetness! (I like the Italian cream one)
Place coffee back in the fridge and enjoy at will!
