Somehow a tradition got started where my friends and I eat wings and watch Game of Thrones. I have no idea how this happened but we call the event Game of Wings and it’s fantastic!
As you can imagine Game of Wings started getting very unhealthy and expensive kind of fast so we had to step up our Game (pun intended).
We usually make our own ranch, about 20 lemon pepper buffalo wings and about 20 honey bbq wings.
The first thing I usually do is make the ranch because it needs to sit in the fridge for a couple hours before it’s really ready.
The next thing that I do is cut the wings. I buy whole wings from Kroger so I have to separate the drummette, wing, and wing tip. To do this I cut the skin between the drummette and the wing, then break the joint between the drummette and wing, then cut between the joint. To separate the wing and wing tip I put my knife between that joint as best I can and, once my knife is stable, cut through it.
Then I put the wings on a baking sheet that is lined with oiled tin foil. Pat the wings dry with a paper towel and salt and pepper. Place in the oven on 400 for 40 minutes.
Once they are done take them out of the pan and throw them in the sauce and toss!

Best Ranch Dressing there is:
1 1/2 packets (so obviously you need to buy 2) Hidden Valley Ranch BUTTERMILK recipe dressing
1 cup of buttermilk
1 cup of mayo
Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate for an hour.
4-6 lbs chicken wings, tips discarded, separated at joint into 2 pieces
salt and pepper
olive oil or canola oil
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Spread wings out over two large baking sheets, avoiding overlap (or else the wings will steam, rather than crisp up!). Pat wings dry with a paper towel to help them crisp up. Season well with salt and pepper; bake about 40 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
When wings are done add them to the wing sauce and toss. Serve immediately.
Honey BBQ Sauce
Bottled BBQ Sauce
Add desired amount of BBQ Sauce and honey to a sauce pan and heat through on medium heat. I usually end up doing a ratio of about 1/2 cup bbq sauce to 3 tablespoon honey. Just do what tastes good!
Lemon Pepper Buffalo Sauce
Buffalo Sauce (Frank’s Red Hot Brand is my go to)
Lemon Pepper Seasoning
Combine ingredients in a saucepan and heat through on medium heat. I usually do about 1/2 cup buffalo sauce, 3 tablespoons butter, and 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning.
